The Posterior Element AFO provides unique features and options for maximum comfort and stability. It comes standard with a custom molded UCBL footplate which holds the heel in a corrected position while stabilizing the arch. It also includes a custom molded pretibial shell which can be used to provide a mild ground reaction force. This lightweight design provides the dynamic motion needed for a normal gait pattern. The Posterior Element is very customizable and has many options which are listed below.
PLS AFO’s are available exclusively through clinical orthotists and prosthetists.
Check with your doctor and orthotist to verify that you can safely use the PLS AFO. The PLS AFO applies biomechanical corrective forces to the leg, increasing ambulatory performance. Your doctor/orthotist will select the proper design to maximize these benefits specific to your individual needs.
